Returning to school means disrupting the summer routines that you and your child have just settled into just when your child needs consistency the most. Children are happiest when they know what to expect. Arguments, misbehaviors, and school resistance often start when they feel that a rule is unfair or unexpected. When you talk about family rules and routines together as a family, it helps everyone feel better about what to expect even when they don’t get exactly what they want.

Overwhelmed with your child’s challenging behaviors?
Hoping for more patience and struggling to stay calm?
Think sometimes there must be a better way?
You are not alone.

We are built to reflect each other’s emotions. When children display intense feelings and behaviors, our brains naturally reflect those. We start to feel stressed, angry or overwhelmed just like our kids. Join us and learn practical tools to help you be a calm center for your family.

Young children thrive in calm and playful families. Play is the best way to help your child learn and grow. It strengthens the parent-child connection, your child’s love of learning, and enthusiasm for life. Play builds social skills and improves cooperation.

Challenges & Solutions

Let’s be real…many of us have had our kids “at work” enough over the past couple of years, but what about our “inner child?” Let’s bring them out to play.

So what is your “inner child?” One definition refers to your subconscious mind that was picking up messages before you were mentally and emotionally able to fully process what was happening around you. Your inner child holds emotions, memories and beliefs from the past, as well as hopes and dreams for the future.

Your inner child holds some gifts you may not be accessing. Children learn and thrive through play, so we will examine the ways that bringing that playful part of us to work can stimulate creativity, relaxation and positive relationships.

Join Peace At Home founder, Ruth E. Freeman, LCSW and much loved early childhood expert, Cora Megan, MA to think together about how your inner child is either showing up in ways that challenge you or maybe getting ignored in ways that limit your happiness and satisfaction with life.
