About this Workshop

The start of a new school year brings exciting opportunities, but it can also bring worries, uncertainty, and big emotions for kids of all ages. Whether your child is in elementary school, navigating the tween years, or a maturing adolescent, the start of the school year can affect confidence, motivation, friendships, and family routines.

As a parent, you may notice that back-to-school stress doesn’t just affect your child. This transition can also trigger your own worries, expectations, or memories of school experiences. You may wonder: How can I stay calm and positive? What action steps can I take to help my child start the school year feeling confident and ready to succeed?

In this engaging, science-backed workshop, you’ll learn how your own mindset and emotional responses influence your child’s adjustment to school. You’ll explore common thinking traps that fuel parent anxiety, understand how your own childhood experiences may shape your response to your child’s challenges, and discover practical strategies to regulate your emotions while supporting your child’s growth.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll feel more confident in your ability to respond thoughtfully instead of reactively, creating a calm, connected environment where your child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school year. Join us to learn how caring for yourself and focusing on positive connections are the most powerful ways to help your child get off to a strong start.

Join Tanika Eaves, PhD, LCSW, IMH-E® and Aaron Weintraub, MS for this live, interactive workshop.

Your own calm and self-awareness help your child build confidence, resilience, and a successful school year.
