About This Workshop

Signaling Safety is a Peace at Home Parenting Principle. Children look to caregivers for signals of safety or danger. It is vital that parents recognize the nature of their own anxious responses. A child who feels safe in relation to their parents and caregivers will naturally use social-emotional strategies to problem solve. Signaling safety is a powerful way to protect your child’s mental health. Young children have important basic needs to feel secure. They need family life to remain pleasurable in uncertain times.

After this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Recognize the unique social-emotional needs of your young child during stressful times
  • Apply parenting strategies that support your child’s feelings of optimism and security
  • Identify realistic self-care practices that are essential for you to effectively support your young child
