Anxious Children: What Really Helps?_Yale Exclusive

About this Workshop

Is your child struggling with anxiety? It is easy to feel overwhelmed when our kids are in distress, but what if we shifted our perspective?

In this transformative workshop, we’ll explore the “Gardener Approach” — moving away from trying to extinguish anxiety. We’ll instead understand it as the brain’s natural, protective alarm system.

Join Peace at Home Expert Aaron Weintraub, MS and learn how the core trigger for a child’s alarm system is separation—whether physical (like bedtimes or school) or emotional (like loss of approval). Discover how to become the steady, calming “compass point” your child needs. Through deep, unconditional attachment, you can help your child’s nervous system power down so true maturation and courage can take root.

Please ask questions and share your experiences during the session.  If you would like to request a specific topic to be covered, please email us ahead of time at solutions@peaceathomeparenting.com

After this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Reframe the Alarm – Understand why anxiety is an experience of emotion, not a disorder of behavior, and learn to look for what is truly distressing your child.
  • Assume the Lead – Step into the caring “Alpha” role, relieving your child of the exhausting burden of being in charge, so they can finally rest.
  • Master the “Collecting” Dance – Discover the power of “collecting before you direct” by anchoring your relationship before asking for compliance.
  • Bridge All Separations: Transform difficult transitions like school drop-offs into moments of connection.
  • Midwife the Tears: Guide your child from the frantic energy of alarm to the healing tears of sadness, which is the true pathway to lifelong resilience.
  • Come away with the confidence and connection to truly support your child as they grow through anxiety into resilience (and not with more strategies to “fix” your child).
