About This Workshop

Post-pandemic parenting has made life a lot more confusing. Children and teens are more anxious and depressed than ever before. And sometimes the signs can be easy to miss. You want to support your child to succeed, but also don’t want them worrying and stressed about school or friends.

This session will be a conversation among OEOP parents and Peace At Home professionals from diverse cultural backgrounds. You’ll have a chance to express your concerns and get some perspective on how your parenting style may impact your child. You’ll hear from other parents and from our experts on what helps kids be well and do well without undue stress.

After this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe the essential aspects of parenting practices that influenced our development as children and our current parenting styles
  • Recognize how culture and life events are linked to family stress and parenting practices
  • Identify practical ways to inspire kids to succeed without creating too much stress or pressure.
