Having these resources in your home helps children be more open to diverse kinds of people and lifestyles and become better allies down the road. It is also important for queer kids to see themselves represented in the media they consume to reduce feelings of isolation and promote feelings of acceptance. Even quick and seemingly insignificant moments of representation can be groundbreaking for kids’ developing minds.
