Potty training may seem like it’s just about your child, but it’s equally about you. Before you begin the toilet training process, ask yourself three questions:
Many children show signs of potty training between 20-30 months and experts agree this is an ideal time to look for signs of readiness.
Your readiness to toilet train is just as important as your child’s readiness. Your child will be looking to you for support and guidance during this process, so it’s crucial that you are able to stay calm and positive in the face of setbacks.
Preparation for toilet training begins long before many parents realize. Before you try to toilet train, make sure your relationship with your child is a positive, cooperative one. Then, throughout the pottying transition, continue to spend quality time together and focus on strengthening your relationship.
