About this Workshop

Sibling relationships are often the longest relationships in a person’s life—and they can be a source of both lifelong connection and daily stress. This interactive workshop gives parents the tools to support healthy sibling dynamics, manage conflict without constant intervention, and use everyday challenges as opportunities to build emotional intelligence and connection.

Join Peace at Home Experts Amy Alamar, EdD and Aaron Weintraub, MS, to learn how to recognize when to step in vs. when to step back, how to reduce rivalry by fostering teamwork, and how to support each child’s unique emotional and developmental needs—without playing referee. Whether your children are close in age or far apart, this session offers practical strategies to help them thrive both together and individually.

  • Recognize common sources of sibling conflict and how to address root causes rather than surface behaviors
  • Apply strategies to promote cooperation, empathy, and healthy communication between siblings
  • Decide when to intervene in sibling disagreements and when to let children work through issues on their own
  • Use routines, structure, and natural consequences to reduce conflict and increase accountability
  • Strengthen your one-on-one connection with each child to maintain trust, reduce rivalry, and model emotional intelligence
