Challenges & Solutions

Is your teen constantly misplacing assignments, forgetting deadlines, or struggling to manage time? If your home is a cycle of nagging, reminding, and frustration—you’re not alone.

This workshop will help you understand the root causes of disorganization, especially when executive function skills are involved. You’ll learn what executive functioning really means, how it affects teens with or without ADHD, and why anxiety or depression can make it even harder to stay on track.

Walk away with practical, compassionate strategies you can use right away—no more power struggles, just real support that helps your teen gain confidence and control over their responsibilities.

Watch this previously hosted session with Peace At Home expert Hilary Ben-Ami MS to help you understand the root causes of disorganization, especially when executive function skills are involved.

Challenges & Solutions

Are you worried about your child’s progress in school, but unsure where to turn? Confused by special education terms or nervous about labeling your child? You’re not alone. Special education services can be essential—but navigating the system is often overwhelming for families.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the essentials of special education law and how to advocate effectively for your child. We’ll break down the difference between a 504 Plan and an Individualized Education Program (IEP), explain the services that schools are required to provide, and help you feel more confident as a partner in your child’s learning journey.

This class will help you understand the laws behind your child’s rights. You will learn about what to expect from two different kinds of services for children with disabilities: 504 Plans and Individual Education Programs (IEPs).The difference between the two is confusing to many parents. It’s important, however, to recognize the difference so you can be an effective part of your child’s planning team and so you can evaluate whether your school is effectively meeting your child’s needs.
