About this Workshop

Being a first responder and a parent means navigating more than just parenting. It can mean balancing high-stress exposure, unpredictable shifts, and emotional wear that can ripple through your family at home. This previously hosted workshop is designed just for you. We’ll tackle the myths and stressors unique to your life—offering straightforward, science-backed communication and discipline strategies that fit your reality.

You’ll gain practical tools for handling everyday parenting challenges, even during busy or emotional times. Learn techniques to strengthen your bond with your children and manage emotions during fear, separation, or uncertainty. You’ll also discover ways to create family routines that bring stability and belonging, plus build resilience with strategies that address how trauma affects family life.

After this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Foster strong, supportive parent-child connections—even during irregular schedules or after tough shifts.
  • Help your kids manage stress and uncertainty, using helpful communication and emotional vocabulary.
  • Establish meaningful rules, routines and rituals (even “mini” ones) that offer security and rhythm, despite unpredictability.
  • Use discipline approaches that are effective and boost cooperation rather than stress.
  • Build your own resilience and mental fitness—so you can show up emotionally available, even when the job takes a toll.
